TO TRAVEL TO MEXICO CITY
In Mexico City, almost every day is sunny, including the rainy and winter seasons, and we will explain why, also we will share you some tips depending on the time of year you come.
The high season in terms of costs and occupancy is Easter (two weeks sometimes in March and sometimes in April), July which is the summer vacation and December with the festivities. These dates only affect the costs of flights and accommodation. All other months of the year the prices remain, unless there is a special holiday.
As for temperature and weather, at Mexico City we enjoy a privileged subtropical climate, imagine that at my foil there are clothes for one season only, the same shorts/jeans and t-shirt I wore in April I can wear in October. Thanks to this climate and being surrounded by mountains there is only one rainy season a year (from May to October) but that doesn’t mean that during the rainy season you can’t go out, as it only rains during the afternoons for a few hours.. And even if you intend to visit the city at this time you will get to know it in a thousand other interesting ways.
It is a huge city with many activities, so with or without rain there will always be something to do, see and taste, for example indoor activities such as visiting museums, going to drink a specialty coffee, drinking pulquería inside a classic cantina, going for some churros with chocolate a la condesa, going up to the mirador of “La Torre Latino”, eating in a Mexican “fonda” with grandma’s flavor or visiting the local markets: Medellin Market (Roma), San Juan Market (Downtown), Coyoacán Market, Jamaica Flower Market, or to see the extensive list of handicrafts from all over Mexico, Ciudadela MarkIet.
When it doesn’t rain and the sun lasts so many hours the city is ideal to get to know on foot or on a bike ride. Just to put you in context the average temperature during the year is 18 to 20 ºCelsius. So you know, the weather in cdmx is the best for sightseeing, walking, giving bike tours, and exploring every corner.
In conclusion, all times of the year are good for planning your trip to Mexico City.
