Mexico City
Off the Beaten track
Mexico City is a sprawling metropolis with more than 2000 colonias (neighborhoods)! You may have heard of some popular ones: Roma, Condesa and Centro Historico. However, we would show you 2 overlooked historic colonias: Santa Maria la Ribera and San Rafael. As we explore these colonias, we will provide insight to historical events, local life and more.
We’ll start by having a hot beverage accompanied with our favourite pastry while chatting and getting familiar with the group.
As we enter San Rafael we’ll taste some street food at one of our favourite stands in the neighborhood while learning about its history and architecture.
We’ll continue on to Santa Maria la Ribera to to see the main monument, and stop at a restaurant to try the most traditional dish from Oaxaca (A southeastern state considered to be the culinary capital of Mexico).
As we continue to explore and hopefully make more space in our stomach; we’ll try an ancestral drink called Pulque, one of the most traditional drinks in Mexico.
Before we say our goodbyes we will sit down for a refreshing michelada (alcoholic beverage), as we chat and share our recommendations for this sprawling metropolis!

Riley McMitchell2024-07-19I highly recommend this tour on your first few days in Mexico City. The food is great and you can cover a lot of ground on bikes so you get a sense of a number of neighborhoods. Simon was friendly, charming, and helped us navigate the traffic and rain safely. Honestly, the rain kind of added to the experience. I really appreciated the historical elements he added and the stories to go with the food were enchanting.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.

Laura Snyder2024-07-07Really enjoyed my tour with Paxi. Since no one else signed up, it ended up being a private tour. Ate great food that I otherwise would not have tried (come hungry because there is a lot of food!) and saw some places I would have never found on my own. If you are worried about what it's like to bike in the neighborhoods we toured, don't be. It was adventurous but easy and I never felt unsafe. I can definitely recommend this tour. Thank you to Paxi for a great time and to Fernando for allowing the tour to go ahead with just one person.Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
Darren George2024-07-05We did this trip with our two kids, 10 and 8 years old. It was great. Lots of good stops, stories, a variety of scenarios. The value is way too much for the cost! They chose really great spots and told us the real stories of Mexico. Recommend 100% and please leave a BIG tip!Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.
Zohran Mamdani2024-07-05Paxi was a great tour guide—she was very informative and took us to places we would have never gone, but now we will never forget. We learned about the history of CDMX, visited an incredible brutalist public library, and had a lovely bike ride along the way.
