It is the most important building in the manifestation of the arts in Mexico and one of the most renowned opera houses in the world.

The entrance fee is only for visiting the building and the murals, however, we recommend that you check the program for events.
Palacio Postal
Postal Palace was built at the beginning of the 20th century as one of the symbols of Porfirio, definitely a gorgeous building that is gonna take you just 5 minutes to explore it.

The visit is very quick, occasionally they have small exhibitions that are also free. If you love books you should check out the corridor next to the building.

The food at the cafe is not good, just buy a soda and that’s it, you won’t pay the entrance. Plus you can use the restroom.
La Capilla
Restaurante
This is a very simple Mexican food place, with a homemade taste. It is one of our favorites in the center, as it’s a break from the chaos that can be experienced in this neighborhood.
#39 5 de Mayo Street, Centro Histórico
Centro, Cuauhtémoc, 06000
$200/300 MXN $10/15 USD per person
This is a great place to eat good enchiladas and drink agua fresca.
Zócalo
This is the main square of Mexico, definitely a place you have to visit and admire its architecture. Remember that during our night tour we visited it and it looks better.
Plaza de la Constitución, Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México, Centro,
Free
Around it, you´ll see people inviting you to restaurants and terraces, don’t accept to go with them because it can be a scam and you will pay a lot of money for a horrible restaurant.
Templo Mayor
It was the most important sacred site in Mexico and is currently an archaeological zone in the Center of Mexico City.
Seminario 8, Centro Histórico, Cuauhtémoc, 06060, next to the Zocalo (the main plaza).
$80 MXN / $4 USD per person.
Next to the temple you will see pre-Hispanic dance.
Los Cocuyos
This place has always been famous, because their tacos are very tasty, we recommend you to order “Campechano” of “Suadero con Chorizo”.

19 MXN 1 USD per Taco
Now they are on Netflix, and then going in the evening or weekend, means waiting a long time (30 minutes standing), better go for lunch and on weekdays to avoid the waiting line.
What else to do in Mexico City?
Street Food Bike Tour
Mexico City has more than 200 neighborhoods because visiting them on foot is impossible and with the city’s traffic it is not easy by car either, that’s why taking a bike tour using bike lanes and getting to know the Mexican culture through its street food, we consider it the best way to experience and feel the city.
